On the drive across from Kelowna to Camore, the Arthur O’Wheeler hut in the Glacier National Park is an excellent place to stop. Over a century ago, this Glacial Hotel was a popular destination for people to stay and explore the park.

Once up the short intial hill, the dirt track leads out to the remains of the building surrounded by towering mountains. And it’s possible to explore approximately a kilometre of track to a waterfall lookout.

Other stops on the drive that I didn’t get a chance to explore (but wish I had!) in Yoho National Park:

– Lake Louise (not the town, the lake system itself)
– Emerald Lake
– Takkakow Falls
